Club Open Days with Waitrose Brand Identity

Throughout the summer of 2014 clubs all over the country will open their doors to thousands of guests on an international cricket weekend.

The ECB run the Club Open Days initiative every year to help recreational cricket clubs welcome potential new members, players, volunteers and even local sponsors into their pavilions.

The ECB asked Designroom Sport to create the brand for Club Open Days 2014. Our idea was to approach the project using dominant typography designed to shout out the core message and give assets as much impact as possible. To compliment the type we created a series of images using cricket equipment shot in extreme close up to give us a range of textural backgrounds and add colour and variety across campaign assets.

For 2014, England Cricket’s new Team Sponsor, Waitrose, are backing the campaign and have a generous offer in place to help individual clubs to generate funds from their events.

The brand rolls out across the country from May 2014.
